The Pats are missing, and have been missing the one piece that could make them top dog in the AFC again. A DEEP THREAT. My god. BB drafts Aaron Dobson, who undoubtedly was the most raw wide out in the 2013 draft. I loved the pick and still do. But he's not ready to be throw into a system like this and play with the big boys just yet. Randy was the last guy that Tom could trust down the field. There's a few guys in this Free Agency that could potentially gain TB12's trust back.
1. My frontrunner is Hakeem 'The Dream' Nicks. Hakeem isn't your ordinary receiver. He plays BIG. He makes the catches and opens up offenses. I know, this year he didn't catch a single touchdown. Trust me, it's worrying me too. But, the New York Football Giants were a fucking disgrace this year. That team had more than enough going for them in their subpar stupid fucking division and they shit it away. They had playoff hopes when they were 0-6...enough said. Back to Hakeem, though. Past years, the guy torches teams. He ripped the Pats apart in SB46, (I'll admit it) and it wasn't any fluke. He's a 6'0" BEAST. He plays like he's 6'4" and you can't help but imagine what he'd be like with the GOAT.
2. Eric Decker. Good chance that this 6'4" white dude stays in Denver. Fuck that. He's being slowed down in ol' PotTown. Decker would be a complete stud with Tom. Plus it'd be the best "Fuck You" from New England to Wes Welker (who lost another Super Bowl...that bitch). New England loves the white fellows too. Wouldn't be surprised about this move one bit. And I'd like it a lot. He'd probably sign for less than Hakeem which would open up the resigning of Julian. Imagine Decker, Amendola, and Julian? It'd seem fucking good to me.

Now we all know the next thing I'm going to say here. The Pats need to keep Talib and add a player to the secondary. I want a safety opposite of McCourty. Or a true No. 2 corner to aid Talib and Dennard. Arrington is average, but no reason not to add real depth here.

1. If you read my last post you'd know how much I want T.J. Ward. Read that shit.

2. Next candidate? Charles 'Peanut' Tillman. This would be such a BB move. Adding a proven vet on his decline and adding him to the roster where he magically resurges his career. I see that in Tillman. Short contract, little to guaranteed money. I like it a lot. And there's no reason to not pull the trigger here. He's proven as a No.1 corner but he'd take on the No.2 in New England...and there's no doubt in my mind that he'd strive there.
The last position that I think the Pats should find an addition in is defensive line. I know that with Wilfork coming back that all should be good. Real thoughts? It won't be. He's only getting older. He's still one of the best in the league, but I'm not sure how much longer he'll be able to hold his own for every down. And Nink is phenomenal from where he started...but he's not a 3-down edge rusher. Chandler is will be a rock on his side for a long time, but that doesn't mean we should just let the other side crumble.
1. I'd love to see Chicago Bears DT Henry Melton come into New England. His salary is low now, but he'd obviously be looking to increase his value. He's 27, and a force inside. Productive and young. Something this defense lacks the combination of (outside of C. Jones). Would be a big pickup and could take some plays from Big Boy, Vince Wilfork. For sure would keep him available and ready to wreak havoc on Peyton and Co. in the playoffs.

2. My favorite Free Agent right now is Michael Bennett. Coming off a Super Bowl victory against the 'greatest offense ever assembled' and the best season of his career, it's going to be hard to take him from Seattle.
With that being said, Bennett was quoted by saying, "I definitely want to get a chance to come back but it’s a business so I definitely have to do what’s best for my family. But if they want me, I’ll be there".

This is bittersweet for teams looking at Bennett. He's going to want to stay in Seattle before any money is put on the table. However, if a team outbids the 'Hawks, you can pretty much guarantee he's out of Neon Green and Blue. Pats won't spend much, but wouldn't it be nice if they tried?
